Current Reading Total

Mr. C's classroom has read 117,355 minutes so far this year!
Wahoooo!!!!

Reading is Key

Our classroom has a culture of reading. We have many students that exceed the 45 minute per day goal that is currently set. It has come to my attention that a few students are not reading and this is not good. Reading is something that takes practice and the more you practice the easier it gets. If we spend a little extra time reading now in third grade the dividends will be enormous in the near future.

About to hit 100,000 minutes

We are about to reach a milestone! 100,000 minutes! We are currently at 96,400 minutes and next week we should post enough to exceed 100,000.

I am proud of the many readers that contribute to the minutes read!

Our school store is going very well thanks to parents help!

The school is going to hold a jump for heart fund rasier. More info will be forthcoming.

60,230 MINUTES SO FAR!!!!!!!

We have achieved the 60,000 minute mark today! At 60,230 minutes in the first trimester we are on track to shatter the 200,000 minute record (196,670 last year!)

We will need to step up our reading minutes but that is normal as the year progresses.

30 minutes/day is the minimum expectation for all students now, 45 minutes/day starting in January, and 60 minutes/day in starting in April until the end of school.

Let's turn these students into readers!

December 2009

The first trimester is about to close and our class is closing in on 60,000 minutes read by our class alone!

Report cards are going home in the next week or so also.

This is supposed to be a secret; but this years class is the best at this school!
